Yawtix is the name of a new adware program that displays advertisements on web pages that you visit with your browser. These advertisements are often accompanied by the words “Ads by Yawtix.” The advertisements displayed Yawtix are usually banners but also links right within the websites’ content.
Yawtix adware is downloadable on its official websites; however, it’s not likely that you installed it voluntarily from its website. Yawtix infiltrates computers by installing parasite programs that you could have downloaded along with software from platforms such as 01net or Softonic, or by using fake software updates (usually Java or Flash).
Yawtix wants you to click on the advertisements that it places all over so that its developers can make money. The advertisements are often risky since this adware has access to your browsing activity. Clicking on ads by this adware is strongly discouraged since you risk exposing your computer to other, more dangerous malware.
How to remove Yawtix ?
Remove Yawtix from your computer
Depending on what program has installed Yawtix, the program may have a different name or not be installed on your computer. If you cannot find any unwanted or unknown programs on your machine, then you can proceed directly with the next step.
- Click the Start button, then click on the Control Panel menu option. If you are using Windows 8, simply drag your mouse pointer to the right edge of the screen, select Search from the list and search for "control panel".
- Click on the Uninstall a program option under Programs category.
- Search for Yawtix and click the Uninstall button
Remove Yawtix from your browser
- Open Chrome and go to the 3 stripes icon
in top right corner. - Select Settings and on the left side Extensions.
- Remove Yawtix by clicking the trash can
icon.
- Restart Google Chrome.
- Open Firefox
- Click on the Big Orange Firefox button in top left corner, then select Add-ons
- Remove Yawtix by clicking the Remove button.
- Restart Mozilla Firefox
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click on the Gear icon
, then click on Manage Addons - Go to the tabToolbars and Extensions
- Select and disable Yawtix if you can’t find it or if you can't remove it, go to the next step.
- Restart Internet Explorer
Remove Yawtix with AdwCleaner

- If User Account Control asks you to allow JRT.exe to make changes to your computer, press Yes to continue..
- Close all your browsers, save any work and then press any key to continue.
- When Junkware Removal Tool is done scanning and removing malicious items from your computer a logfile will open.
Remove Yawtix with MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a light-weight anti-malware program that is excellent at removing the latest detections.
- Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to your desktop.
Premium Version Free Version (without Real-time protection) - Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware using the installation wizard.
- Once installed, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will automatically start and you will see a message stating that you should update the program, and that a scan has never been run on your system. To start a system scan you can click on the Fix Now button.
- If an update is found, you will be prompted to download and install the latest version.
- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will now start scanning your computer for Yawtix.
- When the scan is complete, make sure that everything is set to Quarantine, and click Apply Actions.
- When removing the files, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware may require a reboot in order to remove some of them. If it displays a message stating that it needs to reboot your computer, please allow it to do so.
Reset your browser (if necessary)
If you still see traces of Yawtix after following all the steps above you can reset your browser performing this operation:
- Open Chrome.
- Click on the three stripes button in the right top corner.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll down to the end of the page, search for Show advanced settings.
- Scroll down once again to the end of the page and click Reset browser settings button.
- Click Reset once more.
- Open Firefox
- At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button.
- Go over to the Help sub-menu, then select Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the Repair Firefox button in the upper-right corner of the page.
- Mozilla Firefox will automatically restart.
- Download ResetBrowser :
Download ResetBrowser - Download the tool, save it on your desktop and double-click on it.
- Read the disclaimer and press the Ok button.
- Click the Reset Chrome button and wait.
- Once the process is finished, click onOpen Chrome Yawtix should now be deleted from Firefox.
