Remove TabNav

TabNav is an unwanted program developed by FlowSurf also author of a browser hijacker. This adware adds the “previous” and “next” buttons to Google after a search, a not so useful tool that in return will give you a lot of problems.

In the following screen shot you can see the navigation bar and the ad placed (in a prime zone) by TabNav in Google.

Even though TabNav is not a virus, this doesn’t mean its an innocent tool, because it’s installed through modified setup programs (mostly for free software). A moment of distraction while installing or not reading what’s marked on each step of the installation process can easily result in getting infected with adware like TabNav. These unwanted programs are offered as “opt-in”, meaning they are installed by default, if you don’t want to install them you need to customize it yourself.

Once installed in your computer, TabNav will make new files in your hard disk, modify your registry, and add the buttons mentioned before in Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer. It will also spy everything you do online and will use the information to build commercial databases. This data includes browsing history, searches and everything that helps identify your habits… Even though this kind of unwanted programs claim not to save any explicit personal information we recommend to remove as soon as you notice it has been installed in your computer.
