Remove webmafia@asia.com

webmafia@asia.com is a file extension added to files that have been encrypted by a ransomware. What we must understand by this term is that we’re dealing with a malicious software that will take all your computer’s files as hostages. To clear this further, webmafia@asia.com will encrypt all you files and will demand a ransom to give you back access to them.

This ransomware goes mainly after files such as .PDF, .PPT, .DOC, .XLS, .TXT, and .JPG; once those files are encrypted it will add them an extension that looks like this: .id-<name>_webmafia@asia.com

It will also show a website showing all payment instructions.

The shown page will contain several explanations related to your computer being victim of a virus due to a security issue, therefore all your files have been encrypted, hence the need of a decryption tool or you won’t be able to recover any of your files. To get the needed tool they ask you to send an e-mail to webmafia@asia.com and pay on Bitcoins.

You can of course try to recover you files with Shadow Explorer, but keep in mind that for this to work, the backup option on Windows was supposed to be activated prior to the infection (more on this subject below). Also keep in mind that finding out the right encrypting key through force methods is quite impossible.
