Hotfresh is an unwanted program also considered a malicious program because its developer makes no effort to explain the user all the problems he/she will suffer once the program is installed.
Hotfresh was developed to achieve two main goals: to show ads whenever we’re browsing the net and to save our personal data.
Ads shown by Hotfresh can be seen all over the place, sometimes directly onto the content of every website you visit (as banners, underlined key-words, pop-ups) or as new tabs and windows that are opened whenever you click on something, although in some cases they are opened without any kind of interaction on you part.
As told before if you have been infected with Hotfresh, nothing you do online is a secret for its creators anymore. This adware will collect several personal data concerning you such as your OS version, the web browser you use, every website you visit, key-words used in your searches, your IP address, the place you’re in, among other data that can be used to identify you.
To avoid this kind of issue in the future, be aware of what you choose to install on your computer, specially when installing make sure you understand the consequences of accepting any pre-selected cases, don’t go clicking mindlessly on “Next” without being sure of what you’re doing. Make sure to use the advanced or customized settings to be able to reject anything you don’t need nor want.
