Remove Daugava

Daugava is a unwanted program, which means that its installation has been quietly done by an install process that includes it as optional when installing some free software you found online. Usually these kind of modified install programs are linked to certain download platforms, if you don’t customize these process you can easily end up swimming in unwanted programs like Daugava.

What they are after with this infection, is to show as many ads as possible in every website you visit and to spy on every move you make with your computer. Ads shown by Daugava can be seen literally everywhere, either directly onto the content on every single website you visit (pop-ups, underlined words, banners…) or as unexpected new windows and tabs that open up whenever you click on something, although sometimes they are opened on their own accord without any intervention on your part. These ads are usually tagged as Ads by Daugava  or Daugava Ads, which is how most people realize they have been infected.

Daugava can also be considered a spyware, because it has been developed to save useful information about you in order to build you commercial profile. It’s clear then that every website you visit and every web search you make can be saved in remote databases.

If you wish to avoid this kind of problem in the future, make sure to know what you’re being offered by any install process you execute. Don’t be afraid to use the advanced options to reject anything you don’t wish to install.
