Anonymizer Gadget is the name of a program distributed by a website called NotToTrack, where they promote this tool as the fastest and best proxy in the world. According to them this tool will allow you to visit websites that are blocked for your geographical setting, plus they offer to encrypt all your browsing through the Internet.
We haven’t checked if everything they offer actually works, what we do know for sure is that Anonymizer Gadget is an adware. We know this because this program will show unexpected ads in every website you visit, even if the program is not active. Another suspicious characteristic is that even if this website has its own distribution website, most users install it without really want it to. This happens because some other free tool was installed. When you don’t use the advanced settings of those install processes, you easily end up with one or more unwanted programs in your system.
Free antiviruses are of no use against this kind of issue because most of them consider that you installed those programs by choice. Plus, as it happens with viruses, the techniques used by these tools to achieve successful installations evolve all the time, making detection even a more difficult task.
