Remove aMuleC

aMuleC is yet another program classified as PUP (Potentially Unwanted Programs). If you installed this Chinese adware, there’s no doubt that your were not paying attention to what you were doing when installing a new freeware to your system.

aMuleC was created to fulfill two main goals; first of all to show as much ads as possible when your browsing the net, and to collect data about the way you use and surf the Internet.

Ads shown by aMuleC can be seen all over the place, either as direct parts of every website you visit (as banners, underlined words, pop-ups), or by means of new tabs and windows that are opened unexpectedly whenever you click on something and sometimes without you doing anything at all.

When you’re infected with aMuleC nothing you do is a secret anymore for those behind this program, because as told before, this program takes track and saves data about you including your OS version, data about your web browser, sites you visit, keywords used in your searches, your IP address, your geographical setting, and other data that can be used to figure you out.

Downloading and installing free programs is what opens the door for aMuleC to infect our system. Going too quickly when installing something can result in us overlooking what’s being warned about aMuleC being installed as well. That’s why the golden rule when installing freeware is: Be Careful!
